Diagnostics
Digital Radiology:
Animal Health Hospital is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art digital x-ray equipment.
Digital x-rays are crucial diagnostic tools. They’re faster and simpler than old-fashioned x-rays, and most importantly, images can be instantly shared with a specialist over the internet.
Since two heads are generally better than one, this technology gives us the ability to almost immediately consult, diagnose, and begin treatment on your pet.
Digital Ultrasound:
Digital Ultrasound is a diagnostic tool that allows Veterinarians to observe soft-tissue and internal organs not viable in traditional x-rays.
Ultrasound is also extremely useful for obtaining accurate biopsies and fluid collection.
And like Digital x-rays, Digital Ultrasound scans can be immediately shared with a specialist over the internet, resulting in a speedy diagnosis and faster treatment.
Digital Endoscopy:
In the past, if your pet had severe gastro-intestinal problems or a blockage, invasive abdominal surgery was the only option.
Now, with our flexible endoscope, we can use a high-resolution micro-digital camera to actually view the intestinal tract without surgery.
In addition to being a valuable diagnostic tool, the endoscope allows us to obtain biopsies or remove foreign objects without the need for invasive and expensive surgery.
In-house Blood Testing:
Animal Health Hospital has a full and complete blood-testing lab. We are capable of assessing hematology values, blood chemistry, blood gasses, various hormones and toxins. In-house blood testing provides a faster diagnosis and more rapid care for the sick patient.
In-house lab:
Animal Health Hospital has a full and complete laboratory on-site.
Waiting for Lab results is one of the most stressful times a pet lover can go through, which is why Animal Health Hospital has a full and complete laboratory on-site.
Our in-house Lab means we can assess hematology values, blood chemistry, blood gasses, toxins and hormone levels quickly and accurately.
In our Lab, we can also microscopically analyze cells collected from tumors, abscesses, ear-swabs, skin samples, or other tissues, which give us the ability to quickly identify any parasites, pathogens or organisms that may be present.
This gives us the ability to quickly and accurately diagnose the problem, so treatment can begin immediately.
Out-source lab:
There are of course some complex lab procedures we cannot perform in-house, and in those instances Animal Health Hospital works with Idexx laboratories.
From fungal and bacterial culturing and antibiotic sensitivity testing, to histopathology and advanced immunohistochemistry, Idexx is well-known for being able to perform any outside medical tests necessary to properly diagnose your pet’s condition.
