Pain Management and Anesthesia:
Each and every surgery requires some level of pain management and anesthesia. At Animal Health Hospital, we believe that your pets deserve the safest and most pain free surgical procedure possible. From a mild sedative and a local anesthetic to intrathoracic procedures requiring advanced anesthetic protocols and aggressive pain management, we have the equipment and the expertise to get the job done.
Cancer Surgery:
From skin lumps and bumps to bone tumors requiring limb amputation and cancers within the abdominal cavity, surgery is often your pet’s best chance for a cure. We help you decide when surgery is appropriate and provide outstanding surgical services. When necessary, we work with a surgical specialist to ensure that your pet gets the best care possible.
Spay / Neuter:
Spay and neuter surgeries are one of the best insurance policies ensuring a long and healthy life. These surgeries prevent unwanted puppies and kittens and prevent serious medical problems such as benign prostatic hyperplasia and pyometra. The ONLY reason to not neuter or spay your pet is to enable your pet to produce puppies or kittens.
Abdominal Surgery:
At Animal Health Hospital we perform many abdominal surgeries. Examples include gastric dilation volvulus repair, intestinal obstruction repair, urinary bladder stone removal, foreign body removal and many others.
Orthopedic surgery:
Selected orthopedic procedures are performed at Animal Health Hospital. Examples include ruptured cruciate repair via the extra capsular method, medial luxation of the patella repair, fracture repair, femoral head ostectomy and many others.
Emergency surgery:
Altercations with automobiles and wild animals often lead to serious lacerations and seriously contaminated wounds. At Animal Health Hospital we are prepared to surgically debride (clean) these wounds and repair lacerations.
Referral surgery:
When necessary, we have excellent relationship with local board certified specialty surgeons. Our goal is to make you aware of your options and to facilitate the best surgical care possible for your pet.
